The Best Web 2.0 Applications for Education In 2012 — So Far Web 2.0 is just the start of the applications in education that will assist instructors, teachers, and professors in the age of internet. Web 2.0 will allow educators provide context compared to Web 1.0 which was pushing the context on the provider. ThinkFree- is a mobile application that allows you to look at Microsoft applications on your mobile device no matter where you are at. Also it allows viewing, editing, and sharing documents on your mobile device. Currently while coaching wrestling the athletes on the team decided to incorporate facebook as a forum for discussion regarding team events, duals, and tournaments in regards on how the team lineup changes could benefit towards a league championship. The facebook account is giving a venue for team questions and answers, so by the time practice starts there is no bickering, questioning, and time lost while at practice. While on facebook teammates could share comments, pictures, and wrestling questions regarding upcoming events to family,
friends and students. The facebook website is setup more like a blog than a typically used Facebook account where people share pictures, locate high school or college friends, questions, and answers/feedbacks. Using

History to Go: Why iTeach with
iPods By Deborah L. Vess Georgia College & State University The article was very amazing to read because how important the convenience of an iPod could be not mentioning the normal traditional use like music, movies, pictures, radio, internet but in the regards to education wow the gambit doors are open for example podcasting as discussed before, notes, larger files, power-point, voice memo, and as an external drive to name a few unbelievable options on a iPod. IPod could save valuable time in the classroom where important topics may not be addressed in a timely fashion. If my employer had a budget I would invest in the iPod as an educational tool for work, and assignment for my students. Also podcasts are good for reviewing previous podcast for the process of research, studying, presentations, and even a thesis paper. IPod also assisted the students in better preparing them in oral communication, work habits, and organization skills. IPod is a win, win scenario especially involving blog sites where students are able to obtain information on projects, course work, and another way to process course materials. The negative effect of using an iPod would be to know how to operate it in a timely fashion without great deal in classroom time. Getting their

Podcasting is in the forefront of the technological age which we (Teachers, Students, and Professors) need to start to embrace as part of our educational curriculum. All of the PLN are really interesting tools. Scoop.it is my favorite because

The internet has helped me in research, information, and educated me in areas I would not think of that would benefit me. Examples of sites I tend to go to regularly are wikipedia, espn, cnn, and yahoo for work purposes. These are my favorite sites even though some may say that they (Wikipedia) are not reliable. I do not follow any particular authors. Yahoo, cnn, and espn are sites that I follow religiously. The world wide web helps me learn with all the new research articles that pertain to my work and what I believe in. At times I get distracted when the web sites become one dimensional.Technology is the way of the twenty-first century, so we are somewhat forced to jump along or we get left behind. Learning is part of our nature no matter if it is a book, manual labor, and fighting for what we believe in.
